My Story
As the President and CEO of the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, he is a leader in the international cultural and non-profit sector for more than three decades. During this time, major achievements include building the Bushnell Center for the Arts in Hartford, CT into one of the top touring producers and presenters in the United States and raising more than $100 million during his tenure as CEO to advance the mission. Mr. Evans was the Founding President of Classical South Florida Public Radio, 89.7FM in the Palm Beaches and 88.7FM in Naples, Marco Island and Ft. Myers and Chief Philanthropy Officer for the Guy Harvey Foundation. In addition to his domestic positions, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment and President of Broadway China Ventures, a division of the Nederlander Organization charged with opening offices in Beijing and Shanghai and creating a network of 25 theaters nationwide in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao.
Known as a top institutional advancement professional and lobbyist, he has over the course of his career not only turned around or grown more than a dozen non-profits, he has raised hundreds of millions to support the cultural and educational agenda for not only his organizations but also many private clients. During his training at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, his tenure with the State of Connecticut as Commissioner on Culture and Tourism, launched a new era of public support and participation. A prolific producer and presenter of over 100 Broadway musicals and plays, he has worked with a galaxy of stars including Martha Stewart, Jessica Simpson, Willard Scott,
Barbara Cook, Carol Lawrence, Nell Carter, Ann Miller, Keith Lockhart, Juliet Prowse, John Raitt, Shirley MacLaine and Paula Zahn to name just a few.
